Trumps ability to increase antisemitism while looking like he is Pro-Jewish is astounding! Before the current (or continued) war the Israel government committed genocide. An amazing number of Rabbi’s in NYC managed to deny this genocide while condemning Mayor Mamdani for having sympathy for the people against whom the genocide was carried out was the final straw for this Jew! What ate our beliefs in the modern world if not “Never Again”? Never again for any people, not just the ones sharing my religion.

As a Jewish American who has a similar backstory to yours, Aaron, I agree with you absolutely. The horrific persecution in Eastern Europe that culminated in the Holocaust was a driving factor for many Jews to believe that the only way for Jews to be safe in this world would be to have a country of our own. The tragic irony is that this Israeli government under Netanyahu and his cruel, xenophobic henchmen, is putting a target on every Jew everywhere in the world. Listening to former Israeli soldiers from Breaking the Silence give a presentation in Providence some years ago (I think it was at the JCC, but I don't remember clearly) opened my eyes. Watching the film Israelism clinched it. Opposing this Israeli regime and its war crimes is not anti-semitic. That Netanyahu has given true antisemites a reason to foment hatred against Jews is a bitter pill.
